GUEST SPEAKERS

We invite speakers to come to tell us about their organizations that are helping women & children and share how we can support them. Come learn with us!

God has a special heart for orphans and widows and calls Christ-followers to care for them.  “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”. (James 1:27 NIV) There are an estimated 162 million orphans globally.  While we definitely want to support underserved people in the US, we also want to focus on the vast majority of people living below the poverty line that reside outside the US (50% of the world lives on less that $2.50/day and 20% live on less than $1.25) since these people are generally off the radar screen for most Americans.  Women and children tend to be the most helpless and vulnerable due to lack of rights and limited access to jobs/income to provide for themselves.

​monthly gatherings

We get together on the second Friday of each month from 6-9pm for food, friendship and fun.  This is a an open forum where all ladies are welcome to join.  Come & get to know us!

February 2015 - Vivienne and Usha host the first Red Tent gathering and 45 women showed up!

December 2015 - Red Tent becomes a non-profit corporation in the state of Ohio.

January 2016 - First Red Tent mission trip - twelve women go to India for eleven days!

We plan a range of opportunities to serve together like food packing to send overseas, raising money for global orphan care, collecting baby items for needy expecting moms, etc. Come serve with us!
